Evelyn and I is a documentary juxtaposing one day of Evelyn and “I”, an AI that is trained to perceive the world around them. “I” in this documentary is the overarching presentation of ubiquitous artificial intelligence in modern society. Through this metaphor, we attempt to progress the social identity of AI in human society.
“I” is an AI-powered entity equipped with a camera, a Raspberry Pi, and a speaker. It observes the world by capturing images, analyzing them through AI to generate captions, and vocalizing its perceptions. This process allows “I” to embody the presence of artificial intelligence. By giving “I” a voice, the project bridges machine interpretation and human understanding, inviting viewers to reflect on the evolving role of AI in daily life.
