Correspondances

Correspondances is an interactive experience that delves into the symbiotic relationship between humanity and nature, inspired by Charles Baudelaire’s poem of the same name. This project tries to bridge the timeless permanence of trees, represented by their growth rings, and the fleeting nature of human life, reflected in the intricate patterns of palmistry. The convergence of ancient tree textures and human touch reflects an ongoing exchange between humanity and its environment—both fragile and enduring. The narrative is deeply interpretive, inviting participants to discover their unique connection to the symbols of nature and their own ephemeral existence.

Participants engage by extending their hands, where the growth rings and human palms converge. This interaction triggers a visual and symbolic connection, forming a metaphorical dialogue between past and future, permanence and impermanence. As hands move, the projected rings shift and respond, creating a dynamic interplay that mirrors the complexities of human interaction with the natural world, encourageing participants to explore themes of connection and continuity.
